I guess I shouldn't be suprised. After all, all of the actresses on The Golden Girls were in their fifties when the series initially ran in the 80s. But, as the late Mcclanahan's character Blanche Devereaux said about Big Daddy, I thought she'd go on forever. At least, according to People magazine's article about the star's passing, she died peacefully with her family beside her. As far as I'm concerned, Blanche was the blue print for Samantha Jones. Kim Cattrall should give thanks everytime she receives a residual check or sees a Golden Girls rerun. Rest in peace Blanche:). Here's one of my favorite Blanche clips below:
