WhiteHouse.gov Site Promises 'Support for the LGBT Community'

President Obama's (damn it feel good to say that lol:), new WhiteHouse.gov website, which changed over from the Bush Administration at noon today, outlines the Administration's plan for the LGBT community in its Civil Rights section.

In short, Obama and Biden plan to: expand hate crime legislation to include sexual orientation and gender identity, repeal 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell', support the passage of ENDA, support full civil union, oppose a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, expand adoption rights, promote HIV/AIDS prevention and empower women with HIV/AIDS.

Rod 2.0 praises the plan, saying "A few things worth noting. The eight-point plan for the LGBT community is exactly the same eight-point plan promised by the transition team in November, and, promised by the campaign. And, more importantly, the Obama Administration's "Support for the LGBT Community" is an easy-to-find, prominent page on the White House website. It's not hidden or buried on a departmental website. Bravo."
