OWN drama Queen Sugar will return for its fourth season on June 12. As with the previous three seasons, series creator Ava Duvernay has selected an all-female roster of directors, which include Cheryl Dunye, Carmen Marron and Numa Perrier.
Shadow and Act reports that "Dunye, the groundbreaking auteur most known for her film The Watermelon Woman, made her television directing debut on Queen Sugar and has gone on to helm episodes of Claws, The Chi, The Fosters, Star and the upcoming David Makes Man. Meanwhile Perrier's directorial debut Jezebel is getting rave reviews after its recent premiere at SXSW.
