Empire writer Malcolm Spellman has been brought on to write a series featuring the two superheroes, who have been portrayed by Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in multiple Marvel films, including Avengers: Infinity Wars and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
"Unlike other Marvel shows like “Daredevil” and “The Punisher,” the series on the Disney streaming service will be produced by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige, who has headed up the MCU for years," Variety reports.
The announcement comes as word of other limited series starring Marvel characters like Loki and Scarlet Witch are also in the works. It also comes in the wake of Netflix's cancellation of "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist."
