Prayers for Bobby

"Prayers for Bobby," a movie based on the book of the same name, will air on Lifetime January 24th at 9pm et/8 ct. Via MyLifetime.com:

Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Sigourney Weaver stars in this emotional true story about a 1970s religious suburban housewife and mother who struggles to accept her young son Bobby being gay. What happens to Bobby is tragic and causes Mary to question her faith; ultimately this mom changes her views in ways that she never could have imagined.

After her son's suicide, Mary Griffith went through several years of soul searching and introspection, eventually making peace with Bobby's death and becoming a crusader for gay and lesbian youth. She currently runs a chapter of PFLAG from her home.

From viewing the trailer, it looks like the movie will be a tear-jerker (obviously so, with its subject matter) but ultimately uplifting. You can view the the clip below:

I usually avoid lifetime like the plague (except for Golden Girls!); however, anything Sigourney Weaver's in I'll pretty much watch.
This sounds really good.
I've heard of this woman actually...She was in a documentary called, "For the bible tells me so".
